Here are a variety of bread thermometers used by Bread Dad. For example, I like to use a digital thermometer to check the internal temperature of my sandwich bread loaves and quick breads (such as banana bread). This ensures that they are fully baked.

What I Own & Use
Digital Thermometers – Generally inexpensive and easy to use. I use it to check if my loaves are fully baked. I also like how many of them usually have a thin probe so they don’t leave giant holes in a bread. FYI – I currently use a ThermPro digital thermometer (see picture above) and it has worked great for me.
Oven Thermometers – Very cheap. I like to use a portable oven thermometer in order to see my oven has been heated to the correct baking temperature. This helps me to avoid underbaked breads due to an inadequately preheated oven or an oven that runs cooler than the temp set on the oven dial. FYI – I own a Rubbermaid oven thermometer. See the picture at the bottom of this page.
What I Hope To Try In Future
Wireless Thermometers – Some high tech bakers & cooks like to use wireless thermometers. These allow them to get real-time updates regarding the internal temperature of their breads, meats, etc. No more guessing on whether it is time to take the bread out of the oven. FYI – I do not have one of these tools (yet!)… but I would like to try it out.
