Bread Machine – Pan Sizes

Be aware that bread machine bread pans can vary a lot between manufacturers. Interior dimensions can be significantly different. This means that some bread machines are probably better at larger loaves and others are probably better at smaller loaves (despite having similar marketing claims such as being 2 lb loaf capable).

In addition, some bread pans are more horizontal while others create a “vertical” bread (where the bread pan is tall and not extra wide). Therefore, do your research regarding pan sizes and shapes before buying a machine. Make sure to buy something that can handle the loaf sizes that you like to make for your family.

Visitors – Help others by adding information to this page. Please provide the brand name & model number of your bread machine and your machine’s bread pan interior dimensions (length, width & height of the inside of the pan – not overall machine size) in the comment section below.

Pan Sizes Vary!

Bread Pans – Interior Dimensions

Be aware the issue on whether a loaf fits in a bread machine depends more on the size of the loaf versus the weight of a loaf. 2 recipes with the same weight might have different loaf sizes. For example, a 2 lb recipe for a dense 100% whole wheat bread might fit your pan but a 2 lb recipe for a tall & fluffy white bread might not.

Moreover, manufacturers have different definitions of loaf sizes. For example, the KBS (model # MBF-011) manual uses 3 cups of flour to make a 2 lb French bread (as they don’t have a basic white bread recipe in their booklet). In contrast, the Zojirushi (model # BB-PDC20BA) recipe book uses 4 1/4 cups of bread flour to make a 2 lb basic white bread, Hamilton Beach (model # 29882) uses 4 1/2 cups of bread flour, Cuisinart (model # CBK-110P1) uses 4 cups of all purpose flour, Amazon Basics (model # BM1349-UL-W) uses 3 1/2 cups of “flour” and Bread Dad uses 4 cups of bread flour. These ingredient variations result in differing loaf sizes (despite all of the breads being supposedly 2 lbs).

Moreover, some manufacturers currently have or have made many different models over the years. Therefore, you need to know your exact model number for determining what loaf size works best in your specific machine.
